All of us are responsible for raising the next generation of children: in community, in school, in our wider families and our homes and right now, they need and deserve better.

Racism harms all of us, it causes psychological distress and it is especially harmful to the mental health of all children.

This mini-masterclass series will help you be more skilled at having conversations with children about race. It will help you to raise a generation of racially literate children and adequately safeguard those who may be targets of racism, and most importantly, reduce harm.

In this two part mini-masterclass series you will:

• Drop the pursuit of perfectionism

• Learn how to talk to children about race and racism

• Learn why teaching children to be colourblind is harmful

• Role model how to recover from and take responsibility for your mistakes

• Deeper understanding of the historical, psychological and social impact of racism on children

• Feel more confident at having conversations about race and difference 

• Learn how to help build a sense of belonging and self esteem in children 

• Learn how to adequately support those who may be targets of racism

• Move from embarrassment, panic and shame  - to skilled dialogue to empower children to challenge racism, not reproduce it
